Conquerors (players and AI) have one big weakness since they need to focus a lot on expanding and keeping their navy strong, they usually don't have the budget to put into defensives tactics (defenses stations, highly defended systems, e.c.t.) as much as other types of nations does. If you choose to become a Conqueror, you need to be ready for war, because most of the time you'll feel the need to expand even more, so to take what's not your yet. Especially if the opposing nation took some territory where the conquerors planned on exploiting or if the opposing nation have unused habitable planet or same-type planet as the conquerors, the conquerors will most-likely start to claim a lot of territory from the opposing nation, eventually starting wars. Early game, Conquerors are not a threat to anyone until they share a border with another space-empire.
conquerors are most likely fast-expanding nations who likes to claim territory for the sake of having larges borders so they can exploit the ressources in the future. I will explain each in more details in the following section :
The First type as mentionned earlier are the nations wich power and influence on the galactic level is earned from their impressive Navy and millitary Capabilities.
